Westin Barnett
Westin Barnett kept his hot streak going at the University of Arkansas at Monticello Rodeo, held October 1–3, winning the calf roping average for the second straight weekend and leading a strong showing for the Southern Arkansas University Muleriders. Three of his teammates also placed over the three-day rodeo.
Barnett set the tone early with a 10.9-second run in the long round that placed third. With the title on the line in the short round, he came back even stronger, stopping the clock in 9.2 seconds for the fastest time of the round. The win in the short round gave him first place in the average with a 20.1-second total on two head.
Natalie King continued her consistent run in the goat tying. She opened the weekend with a 7.7-second run that tied for fifth in the long round, then trimmed her time to 7.4 in the short round to place third. Her 15.1-second total on two earned her fourth in the average.

Natalie Talley, Scout McElroy, and Natalie King
Natalie Talley got faster as the weekend went on in the barrel racing. After a 15.59 in the long round placed ninth, she cut nearly four-tenths of a second off her time with a 15.2 in the short round. That run placed fifth in the round and moved her to sixth in the average.
Scout McElroy added to the Muleriders’ results in the team roping, heeling for an 11.2-second run that placed sixth in the long round.
With three rodeos down, the Muleriders now head to West Plains, MO, to close out a stretch of four straight rodeos. The team will compete October 8–10 at the Missouri State University–West Plains Rodeo.
