Wharton Nursing Building, built in 1963 under Dr. Imon E. Bruce’s term as president, and recently renovated and enlarged. This 25,000-square-foot building houses Southern Arkansas University’s Department of Nursing and offers a rigorous Bachelor of Science in Nursing program that blends classroom instruction with hands-on clinical practice. The building offers a simulation lab and real-world experiences at local medical facilities. The mission of Wharton Nursing is aligned with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
