Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field has been the home of the Mulerider baseball team since the 1960s, with a capacity of 1,000. On October 15, 2011, the playing surface at Mulerider Field was changed and named in honor of longtime SAU head baseball coach Steve Goodheart, head coach for 23 seasons (1981-2003). There have been multiple major developments, most recently in the fall of 2024, state-of-the-art artificial turf was installed, a new ChampionWall in the outfield, and a videoboard. In 2010, the university received a $500,000 challenge grant from the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation, and SAU raised an additional $500,000 to complete the stadium, which now includes an updated press box with multiple radio booths, a concession stand, a player locker room, coaches’ offices, and public restrooms.
