University Village was built in 2003 as part of Dr. Rankin’s Blue and Gold Vision. The University Village Apartments are two- or four-bedroom apartments available for upper-level students who meet the requirements. The requirements include either 60 or more hours, 21 years of age with a 2.25 GPA, or 40 hours with a 3.50 GPA. Students must maintain the required GPA to keep their lease. The lease is either 9 or 12 months, chosen before moving in in August. The apartments are fully furnished with a living room, kitchen, and bath. Each bedroom has a single sleeping space with a full-size bed, a desk, a chair, a chest of drawers, and a ceiling fan. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. Within the village, there is the clubhouse, which offers a lounge area, swimming pool, free laundry facilities, and access to Panda Express. Rent is billed per semester to the student’s account and includes utilities, free use of laundry facilities, and a free internet connection. Spaces are very competitive; it is recommended to complete the housing application as soon as it opens.
