The Ozmer House, built circa 1883 by the Ozmer family, who migrated to Columbia County in 1860 from Georgia. In 1873, Henry Ozmer married Virginia Faulk and moved into a log house. In 1883, Henry built the house on farmland, and they lived there until Henry died in 1941. The Ozmer House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The house was moved in 2016, and with a $150,000 grant from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council and a $40,000 contribution from the Ozmer family, the house and grounds were transformed. The house was dedicated in 2020 and is significant because it epitomizes the homes of farm families in south Arkansas from the end of the Civil War until the early 20^th century. The Ozmer House is an exceptionally well-built and well-preserved example of board-and-batten dogtrot construction.
