Each year of the student's experience is dedicated to focusing on one of the above goals to insure that the quality of the education goes beyond the classroom into everyday practice.
The question often arises what can I do with an Art Degree besides teach? The answer is simple…a lot. Here is a short list of careers which enable students to become professional artists where the earnings are unlimited AND which allow them to work in a field that they are passionate about.

Coming to SAU; Michael Osborne of San Francisco who's work is part of the permanent collection of SF MoMa and the Smithsonian, Youngran Ryu, Sr. Designer in Nike Inc. in Portland, OR, Chris Cortez of NYC who worked as Art director and designer for Tommy Hilfiger and now works in his own studio plus a surprise guest or two.

When does he not?
Assistant Professor Dan May travelled to Atlanta in October to present his paper entitled, Glitz, Glamour and Sustainable Design at the Intellectbase Consortium. His paper also appears in print in a journal printed by the same organization which is on file at the Library of Congress. He has been nominated to sit upon their board as an editorial reviewer.
Troup 32 of the boy Scouts took part in a class on color, and collage creating self portraits as part of their Art Badge requirement.
