To find the representative from your college or department, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saumag.edu\/committees\/\">click here<\/a> for the committee member list.<\/p>\n<p>The SAU Faculty and Staff Professional Development University Committee directs The Academy of Professional Development to select, develop, and deliver inclusive and responsive professional development opportunities that support the evolving needs of higher education. Through regular assessment of faculty and staff needs, the committee analyzes feedback, coordinates resources, and plans targeted programs that serve the entire campus community and specific groups with identified professional development needs.<\/p>\n<h1>Academy Learning Tracks<\/h1>\n<p>The Academy has five (5) established tracts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\"><b data-olk-copy-source=\"MailCompose\">New Faculty &amp; Staff<\/b> &#8211; <\/span><span role=\"presentation\">Supports the successful transition of new faculty and staff by introducing institutional culture, policies, resources, and essential tools that promote effectiveness and engagement at SAU.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\"><b>Research &amp; Scholarship &#8211; <\/b><\/span><span role=\"presentation\">Promotes research, scholarship, and creative activity by providing development opportunities related to research design, compliance, funding, collaboration, dissemination, and scholarly impact.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\"><b>Technology &amp; Digital Innovation &#8211; <\/b><\/span><span role=\"presentation\">Builds capacity for effective and responsible use of campus technologies, including learning and administrative systems, accessibility tools, cybersecurity awareness, and ethical, practical applications of artificial intelligence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\"><b>Leadership &amp; Organizational Effectiveness &#8211; <\/b><\/span><span role=\"presentation\">Develops leadership skills for current and aspiring leaders through training focused on communication, supervision, collaboration, decision\u2011making, and institutional effectiveness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\"><b>Personal &amp; Professional Development &#8211; <\/b><\/span><span role=\"presentation\">Encourages enrichment, success, and lifelong learning by offering opportunities to strengthen personal productivity, communication skills, wellness, career growth, and professional resilience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Questions or Comments about The Academy<\/h3>\n<p>For more information about The Academy of Professional Development, please email <a href=\"mailto:theacademy@saumag.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theacademy@saumag.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mission Statement The Faculty and Staff Professional Development University Committee is comprised of representatives from each college and department.
