College of Science and Engineering (CSE) takes seriously the role of research in the education of undergraduates. Students regularly benefit from direct contact with our research faculty and are empowered and encouraged to conduct their own inquiries. All undergraduates at the College are invited to participate in and present their research at the College\u2019s Fourth Annual Undergraduate Research Conference on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. Research projects can be done as independent projects or class projects and those not yet involved in such efforts will discover that attending the conference is a great way to learn about the broad range of original work that is being produced at the CSE. Projects in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Nursing, and Physics are welcome!<\/p><h4><strong>Rules and Eligibility<\/strong><\/h4><ul><li>Undergraduate students can present either individually or as a team, and a team presentation may have a maximum of six students.<\/li><li>Only currently-enrolled undergraduate students are allowed to present at the conference.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/h4><ul><li>A student must complete the online application form in order to apply to present at the symposium. A short abstract (max. 250 words) of your research is required as part of the application.<\/li><li>For multiple students interested in co-presenting, please note that only one application should be submitted per team.<\/li><li>Application deadline: <strong>Thursday, April 17 by 11:59 p.m.<\/strong><\/li><li>Abstracts will be published in an abstract aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7512\"><p>This document provides general guidelines to assist students in preparing poster presentations. Students are STRONGLY encouraged to work with their faculty\/research advisor in preparing presentation. Dress code for the event is business or business casual.<\/p><p>By default, all presentations will be in poster format.<\/p><ul><li>Posters should be <strong>24\u201d x 36\u201d<\/strong> in size. Standing display boards and pins will be provided at the conference.<\/li><li>Arrive by 2:30 pm to hang up your poster and receive your name tag.<\/li><li>You will remain with your poster for the duration of your session, which will typically be 1-hour in length.<\/li><li>All posters should have a professional appearance and should include color, graphics, photographs, and\/or other visually stimulating aids.<\/li><li>Minimize text. Try to use one line of text to highlight each major point.<\/li><li>Use simple fonts that can be read easily and from a distance. Font size should be no less than 18 point. Posters should be readable from two or three feet away, so the larger the font, the better. Standard recommended sizes range from 24-60 point bold.<\/li><li>Pay close attention to the organization of your poster. Information should follow a logical order and should guide viewers through your research activity. Basic contents typically include: title; researcher\u2019s name(s); university and department; introduction; purpose\/significance of study; data collection method; analysis, and; if appropriate, results\/findings.<\/li><li>Please ask your faculty mentor to print your poster.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div
