If you are a new student, or you have never used your network login before, you will need to contact Technology Services (870-235-4083) to get login information. If you have forgotten your login, you may contact the Circulation Desk (870-235-4170) or Technology Services. Your network login will give you access to most databases without needing additional passwords. If you time out of a database, or if you close your browser, you may need to log in again.<\/p>\n

Is there a way for me to get a book from the library?<\/strong><\/p>\n If you are able to come to campus, your student ID is your library card. Just have it ready at the Circulation Desk when you bring your item(s) for check-out. If you are not able to make it to campus because you live too far away, you can request that a resource in our physical collection be sent to you. Our resources have different policies, but you can find them all HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n How do I access the eBooks in the library?<\/strong><\/p>\n You can find our eBook Collections HERE<\/a>. Once you choose an eBook collection, you will be routed to the page for that collection. You can search for the resources you need by following the instructions on the page.<\/p>\n To find eBooks that are able to be accessed from our catalog, click on the gold Search Library Catalog button on the home page. You will be able to search by author, title, subject, or phrase. Make sure you click on the \u201cMagale E-Book\u201d option under \u201citem cat2\u201d to narrow the hits down to eBooks.<\/p>\n What are databases, and why do I need them?<\/strong><\/p>\n Library databases contain scholarly and peer-reviewed articles. Your professors will require you to use these types of sources for your assignments, research papers, and projects. \u00a0You can access the Magale Library databases from our website either through our Search Electronic Collections button on the right side of the home page or by looking up specific databases under the Electronic Resources header under the Magale Library title above.<\/p>\n What databases do I use? There are too many to choose from!<\/strong><\/p>\n This is a daunting task for many people. Don\u2019t get discouraged. The first step is to know which citation style (APA, MLA, Turabian, etc…) your professor wants you to use. Next, go to our Citation Resources PAGE<\/a> to find helpful links. We also have online tutorials for several citation styles HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n What are plagiarism and academic integrity? <\/strong><\/p>\n Plagiarism is using someone else\u2019s words and not citing the author or creator. For more information on how to avoid this, see our Academic Integrity PAGE<\/a>.<\/p>\n How do I register for classes? <\/strong><\/p>\n SAU provides a service to incoming freshman, transfer, and non-traditional students in the summer called Becoming A Mulerider (BAM<\/a>). This is an orientation service that helps you navigate around and learn more about SAU. They will also enroll you in classes at that time! You can also contact the Advising Center<\/a> if you are unable to make it to any of the BAM sessions.<\/p>\n How do I pay for classes?<\/strong><\/p>\n This is one of the scariest parts of college. However, the people in the Financial Aid Office want to help you figure this out and succeed! You can reach them HERE<\/a>.\u00a0 \u00a0Assistance is available through federal, state, and institutional programs, which include grants, loans, student employment and scholarships. All programs are administered in accordance with governing regulations.<\/p>\n How do I find my way around campus?<\/strong><\/p>\n SAU provides an interactive map of campus HERE.<\/a>\u00a0The beautiful Southern Arkansas University campus rests on 1,491 acres along the northern edge of Magnolia, Arkansas. Building upon a strong foundation, SAU has continued to grow, constructing new dormitories, new academic buildings, and student life facilities.<\/p>\n Where do I buy my textbooks? <\/strong><\/p>\n Textbooks can be bought at the BOOKSTORE<\/a> on the first floor of the Reynolds Building on campus. We do have some available on Reserve in the library for specific classes. These can be checked out for 2-4 hours depending on your professor\u2019s request but cannot leave the library.\u00a0 You can look up the title in our catalog or check for your class or professor HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n How do I get a Student ID?<\/strong><\/p>\n The student IDs are made on Campus in Room 108 in the Dolph Camp building.
