Senators in attendance were Brad Stout, Deana Taylor, Britta Clark, Alta Malone, Barbara Torrence, Sarah Adcox, Daniel Grimmett, Melody Mayo, Victor Moore<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0Proxys: Deana Taylor proxy for Laura Wilkerson, Britta proxy for Julia Nipper<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><u>Visitors: Alec Testa, Faculty Senate President<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Call to Order:<\/strong> 2:07 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Approval of Minutes<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>April 20, 2016 Minutes. Motion was made by Brad Stout to approve minutes, second made by Alta Malone.<\/p>\n<p>Motion carried.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Old Business<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discussion of possible Senate Action Projects-expanded on last year\u2019s ideas (additional traffic safety).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Traffic Safety Committee-Brad, Sarah, Victor, and Deana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>New Business<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Election of Senators-There will be six openings among the units<\/li>\n<li>Election of Officers for 16-17.\u00a0 Vice President, Secretary, Liasion to the Faculty Senate\n<ul>\n<li>Brad motioned to elect officers after election of new senators next month<\/li>\n<li>Sarah, Seconded<\/li>\n<li>Motion carried.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Senators on University Committees (*see attached list)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Committee Reports<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Making Magnolia Blossom-October 8<sup>th<\/sup>.Registration will be online or the day of the event. Workers will check in at Reynolds parking lot to receive shirts, breakfast, and assignments.\n<ul>\n<li>Projects will be Senior meal program relocation, CCAPS, and the Second Chance thrift store<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Staff Breakfast-Britta Clark volunteered to chair and the senate will work as a whole group on breakfast committee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Staff updates<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Financial Services-Jill O\u2019Dell is new Fiscal support, Mary Bradshaw is retiring October 31<sup>st<\/sup> and Kendra Copeland will be moving into her position.\u00a0 Bria Snowden will be the new cashier, Jenene Haltom and Leshan Johnson will be the new accountants. Admissions-Verna Moore is at Switchboard, Lauren Dodson moved from Graduate studies to Admissions as Data Entry, and Tad Davis was hired as the new Admissions recruiter.\u00a0 Advising-Mallory Kornegay is a new advisor, Shelly Whaley has moved back down to Advising full time.
