The primary responsibility of this role is to operate and safely maintain all equipment associated with three high-hazard unit processes. Troubleshoot the unit processes and perform light maintenance activities. Unload and load totes, trucks, and railcars; actively participate in various safety and continuous improvement teams. This position reports to the El Dorado Production Team Leader.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow approved procedures and complete pre-start up checks of the process equipment in order to ensure it is in a safe condition to be run.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and operate operating and safety equipment on all levels outside and inside the manufacturing buildings during all shifts, while wearing proper personal protective equipment, in order to ensure that it is running within the limits listed in the operating procedures in order to safely produce the product within customer specification.<\/li>\n<li>Uses computers to:\n<ul>\n<li>Generate a work order the SAP system for the maintenance group to troubleshoot\/repair equipment problems.<\/li>\n<li>Read\/review the PPE matrix and procedures in order to ensure that the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is being worn and current procedures are being followed.<\/li>\n<li>Log production and generate production reports.<\/li>\n<li>Log HCl transfers to Lanxess storage tanks as well as log truck loading and unloading of HCl.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with others, both on and off Site.<\/li>\n<li>Develop\/use spreadsheets or other software as necessary for documentation and analysis of information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Participate in incident investigations to determine its key factors and to help develop recommendations to prevent recurrence.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct tests and inspections of safety showers, Scott air-packs, fire extinguishers, ladders, emergency lights, relief devices, alarms, interlocks, on a set frequency in order to meet Site as well as corporate and government regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Perform routine maintenance on equipment using hand tools in order to maintain operation of the process.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare equipment for routine maintenance to be performed by contract personnel. Ensure contract personnel (Lanxess maintenance or outside maintenance) adhere to Chemours safety standards. Issue the relevant work permits required for maintenance (e.g. Safe Work Permits, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Permits)<\/li>\n<li>Use the Distributed Control Systems (DCS)\/Process Logic Controllers (PLCs) systems to track the operation of the process in order to produce a product within customer specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Use Gas Chromatographs, in order to check the quality of the product being produced to ensure it meets the documented specifications of the customer.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and revise procedures, both written and electronically, in order to reflect the actual performance of a job.<\/li>\n<li>Answer questions, provide information (written, orally, electronically) to Maintenance, Technical and Supervision in order to properly troubleshoot and correct potential problems.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate a continued proficiency around the performance of those tasks associated with their job, and to meet Site, corporate, and government requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Operate electronic control equipment, and replace fuses, per work orders, direction from Supervision, or self-initiative, with resources such as safety rules, schematic diagrams, and vendor manuals, using hand tools in order to return equipment back to service.<\/li>\n<li>Perform maintenance work per oral\/written instructions, from Supervisors, electronic work orders, TA\u2019s, COD\u2019s, self-initiative, with resources such as safety procedures, schematics, drawings, prints, sketches, Technical support, and vendor manuals, using hand tools, PCs, engineering work stations, shop tools, in order to troubleshoot and correct equipment failures, or to upgrade\/modify equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with other members of the work team to share information regarding the operation of the process, quality control, equipment problems, changes to area, upgrades to procedures in order to make proper relief between teams\/shifts.<\/li>\n<li>Using procedures, calculate the correct amounts of raw materials needed on hand in order to produce the amount of product specified to meet customer orders.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with supervisor to determine the products scheduled to be produced during work period in order to plan the work activities to be accomplished in order to meet customer needs with minimum supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate special projects or work with\/lead special teams involved with such work as new equipment installation, improving existing equipment or processes, working with customers including visiting worldwide customers to resolve problems and\/or make improvements, product quality improvement, or equipment start-up.<\/li>\n<li>Use Performance-Based Training process and other training processes to continually develop themselves and others within their team in order to become more effective in the performance of their jobs, and to share this knowledge with others.<\/li>\n<li>Safe and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements and environmental regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Operates valves, pumps, compressors, and blowers.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoots equipment using mechanical knowledge, equipment specification sheets and manufacturer literature to restore to operation.<\/li>\n<li>Operates material handling equipment to transport materials, in-process goods, packaging components and equipment within the operating facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Performs basic maintenance and troubleshooting<\/li>\n<li>Takes liquid, solid, or gas samples from process and service lines to perform field analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Analytical functions necessary for determining the quality of the product being manufactured.<\/li>\n<li>The Technician must also be flexible enough to perform tasks in all the skill groups and not just the one which is their primary assignment.<\/li>\n<li>The Technician also coordinates, and performs tasks associated with special projects, programs, and networks both on and off site.
