{"id":11913,"date":"2026-08-18T15:55:39","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T20:55:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saumag.edu\/career-services\/?p=11913"},"modified":"2026-08-18T15:55:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T20:55:39","slug":"multimedia-journalist-reporter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saumag.edu\/career-services\/multimedia-journalist-reporter\/","title":{"rendered":"Multimedia Journalist Reporter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Multimedia Journalist Reporter produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reports news stories for broadcast, describing the background and details of events<\/li>\n<li>Arranges interviews with people who can provide information about stories<\/li>\n<li>Reviews copy and corrects errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Reviews and evaluates notes taken about event aspects to isolate pertinent facts and details<\/li>\n<li>Determines a story\u2019s emphasis, length and format, and organizes material accordingly<\/li>\n<li>Researches and analyzes background information related to news stories to be able to provide complete and accurate information<\/li>\n<li>Gathers information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functions<\/li>\n<li>Pitches stories to news managers and news producers which are relevant to the local community<\/li>\n<li>Receives assignments and evaluates leads and tips to develop story ideas<\/li>\n<li>Discusses issues with producers and\/or news managers to establish priorities or positions<\/li>\n<li>Checks reference materials such as books, news files or public records to obtain relevant facts<\/li>\n<li>Revises work to meet editorial approval or to fit time requirements<\/li>\n<li>Shoots and edits news events and news reports<\/li>\n<li>Produces and presents reports for all platforms<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality<\/li>\n<li>Writes stories for the web and other eMedia platforms<\/li>\n<li>Interacts with viewers\/users on social media sites<\/li>\n<li>Performs special projects and other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum two years&#8217; experience in news reporting.
