Licensure programs are also offered for students holding a master\u2019s degree who seek licensure as a principal curriculum program administrator, or superintendent. The curriculum places a strong emphasis of field practicum experiences, clinical experiences and internships. One (1) year of teaching experience is required. Students must conference with the program advisor prior to admission and meet program admission requirements.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Licensure Program Admissions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Applicants who currently hold a graduate degree and seek licensure as a principal, curriculum program administrator, and\/or superintendent must meet the same admission requirements as applicants for a master\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n<h3>EDAS Programs<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Master of Education in Educational Leadership in Administration and Supervision (EDAS)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saumag.edu\/academics\/program\/principal-leadership-certificate\/\">Principal Licensure Program Certificate<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saumag.edu\/academics\/program\/program-administrator-non-degree\/\">Program Administrator Certificate<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saumag.edu\/academics\/program\/district-leadership-certificate\/\">Superintendent &#8211; District-Level Leadership Certificate<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"learning-goals\" class=\"alert alert-info\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<h3>Learning Goals<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Candidates engage in scholarly research activities such as action research or program evaluation to solve authentic problems. Teachers seek advice of others and draw on education research and scholarship to improve their practice.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates model leadership and communication strategies that promote valuing diversity throughout the community. Teachers recognize individual differences in their students and adjust their practice accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates design and modify instruction and the learning environment based on assessment of student learning and behavior. Teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring student learning.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates employ technologies including communications, productivity and presentation applications to enhance their collaborations. It is incumbent upon students seeking licensure in other states to verify the licensure requirements in their state. Candidates must complete courses in the professional core and educational administration and supervision. Specific coursework and practicum requirements are outlined in the internship guide.\r\n\r\nCandidates may not enroll in an internship until all application and program requirements are completed.\r\n\r\n<strong>Portfolio Requirement<\/strong>\r\n\r\nMaster\u2019s degree and licensure candidates must prepare and satisfactorily defend a program portfolio based on the appropriate national and state licensure standards for an administrative license.
