Copy of an Old Master Work in Watercolor

Using watercolor paints, you will copy an old master painting, also done in watercolor. Size, technique, etc. are up to you, but please make the painting no smaller than 11 x 14". Copying old masters is an effective 19th century art training technique. Through the copy, you will discover how the great painters of the past were able to achieve certain effects. Some notable painters who worked extensively in watercolor include John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Albert Pinkham Ryder, Albrecht Dürer and Thomas Eakins.
