Printed Matter as Shapes / Letter Forms as a Representational Design

A. Select swatches of printed matter from magazines or newspapers. Create a nonrepresentational design using cutout pieces of this printed matter as shapes rather than as words to be read. Finished size of 8x10"

B. Use letters in any form — type, printed matter, writing, computer print, or whatever–to create a representational picture of a still life, a landscape or a person. Finished size of 8x10" .

  • Mount both images to black foamboard with a 1/2" border on the top and sides and 1" on the bottom. Arrange images in a horizontal format.
