Create a Grid of Colors of Equal Brilliance and a Grid of Colors of Equal Darkness

SQUARE 1: Brilliance

For the colors of equal brilliance, using pure yellow for the center 1" square, then using only other primaries and white, you must mix 24 other color swatches of EQUAL brillance. Do not confuse brilliance with saturation or purity. The level of value contrast must be identical. The end result will be a 5" x 5" square.

SQUARE 2: Darkness

For the grid utilizing colors of equal darkness, you will choose either blue or red as the center 1" sqaure, then, by mixing only PRIMARY colors, you will produce 24 additional colors of the same SHADE, or level of darkness. The colors must all be DIFFERENT, yet have the same value. When you squintyour eyes and look at your grid, the colors should all visually blend together into one large square. The end result will be a 5" x 5" square.

Mount your two grids side by side with a 1/2" border on the sides, top and in between, with a 1" border on the bottom. Due next class period.
