Rhythmic pattern through printed matter
Create a rhythmic pattern-based design using printed matter as your medium. Rhythmic pattern is achieved through the use of repeating shapes at regular intervals. Printed matter will be in color and can consist of labels, magazine ads, packaging, etc. You are to cover an area of a 8" x 8" square. Square must be completely covered with pattern (no white space).
Pattern format can be square (grid, checkerboard), stripes, etc. as long as a repeated, rhythmic pattern is achieved through the entire design. You will then create a second version of your design manually. You will reproduce shapes and colors by hand, creating an identical 8 x 8" square. You may use paint, or colored pencil, whatever medium you wish, providing that the medium reproduces your printed pattern well. You will then mount both of them side by side, your assembled pattern on the left, and your reproduced pattern on the right.
Mount both to black foamboard and leave a 1" border all the way around.
