Using principles we have covered in class, you will create a small painting (11" x 14" - horizontal format) representing one of the four elements. When finished, please mount your painting to foamboard with a half-inch border on the top and sides and one inch along the bottom.

The four basic elements of life are fire, water, wind and earth.

You are not bound by any restrictions other than the following:

Your painting must contain at least three colors (any three you wish). These colors should help communicate which of the four elements you have chosen. Also take into account other design principles we have discussed (line, shape, texture, balance, etc.) and use them as you see fit to hep communicate CLEARLY your element.
