White, Jack

(1931 - )

New York artist Jack White served as Artist-in-Residence at The Arkansas Arts Center in 1980, when he worked on his MacArthur Park Series. White began incorporating computer print-out cards into his collages in 1977, sometimes utilizing them as a formal element and sometimes as the subject of the work. Often folding, bending or otherwise mutilating the cards, White is interested in both their technological implications and the design challenge posed by working with a repetitive unit.
