Artists Statement;
"Art allows me to view the world in a way that goes beyond the three dimensional reality. It permits me to see the fibers that bind all things together. This clarity of perception is unrelated to the abstract or naturalistic presentation of subject matter" Smith, Russell Paul Sommerfeldt, Carol (Arkansas, 1950 - ) Speer, Margaret (Arkansas, 1941 - )
Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Margaret Speer's sculptures were included in the 1995 exhibition Arkansas Women Artists. Though she holds no formal art degree, she has studied art at several institutions. Speer works in several different media, and feels that versatility best describes her as an artist. Her work is also part of the collection of the President and Mrs. Clinton as well as numerous other private, corporate, and public collections.
