"My home is Denver, Colorado, where I attended the public schools. At age 17, in the 10th grade, I left and joined the U.S. Marine Corps. When I returned to Colorado, I attended college as an art major. After college, I taught in several universities in North Carolina and Virginia. I taught one year at Arkansas State. I retired in 1997 from teaching in the Little Rock Public schools."
Artist's statement:
"My style is expressionistic and the subject has been primarily landscape, although landscape is just a vehicle for me to express deep feelings towards nature by way of color and rhythmic brush strokes. Favorite artists include Matisse, Bonnard, and many American artists such as Charles Burfield."
