04/14/09: The April Chapter meeting will be held at 7:00pm in Bruce Center 104 on the SAU campus, we will talk about the recent "spring break" excavations at the Royston House in Historic Washington State Park.

06/14-29/08: The 2008 Arkansas Archeological Society/Survey Training Program (AKA "The Society Dig") will be excavating near Malvern, Arkansas on an Archaic period site important in helping us understand the prehistoric trade of stone quarried from the Ouachita Mountains. 10/09/07: Dr. Thomas Green, the Director of the Arkansas Archeological Survey will be the October Speaker for the Kadohadacho Chapter meeting--7:00pm, Tuesday, October 9, 2007 in Bruce Center rm 104 on the SAU Campus in Magnolia. Dr. Green will be speaking about the archeolog of the first people to inhabit North America. Who were they? Where did they come from? And how are they a part of our politics in the present?

05/04 & 05/07: Dr. Brandon will be in Little Rock giving lectures on African-American archeology in Arkansas at the Preservation of African-American Cemeteries (PAAC) conference (Fri.& Sat.) and at the Historic Arkansas Museum (Sat.. 3:00, sponsored by the Mosaic Templar Cultural Center and associated with Arkansas Heritage Month).

04/11/07: Dr. Brandon will be speaking to folks at South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado, Arkansas as a part of their lunch speaker series.

02/02/07: AAS-SAU staff will be up near Hot Springs helping Dr. Mary Beth Trubitt map the Jones Mill Site (3HS28)--an Archaic-period site connected to the nearby novaculite quarries.

01/29/07: AAS-SAU staff will be helping conduct some high-tech remote sensing at the Mounds Plantation site in Louisiana this week.

12/02/06: The 20th Annual Christmas and Candlelight at Old Washington Historic State Park. The entire park can be seen with natural 19th century decorations and three thousand luminaries lighting the way for you to stroll the historic streets.
