Mathematics and Computer Science

Computer lab in Wilson 230.  Funded by bond money in 1997 and therefore not supported by computer services, this 15-station laboratory provides an instructional setting for computer science courses and some upper division mathematics courses.  SAU foundation funds purchased a new server and scanner in the fall of 2000.  The lab also has a printer.

SAU foundation funds purchased an InFocus projector in fall 2001.  A laptop computer was purchased with residual grant funds.

The Mathematics Tutoring and Testing Lab in Wilson 113 has 30 new computer stations purchased with a sub-grant award from the University of Arkansas and the National Science Foundation in the fall of 2001.

All mathematics faculty have TI-83+ calculators and overhead panels to support the use of the calculator in all freshman-level mathematics courses, as well as other classes.

The software packages Maxima and Statistica were purchased in 1999 and are available for faculty use and for instruction in the Wilson 230 lab.

Nursing

Equipment for clinical preparation—beds, IV equipment, etc. In fall and spring of 2001 and 2002, twelve new electric beds were purchased with money from the Perkins Foundation.

Equipment for academic preparation—In-Focus and 3-M projectors for PowerPoint presentations
