Journal One: Pre-reading Activities

Have students answer the following question in their journals: “If you were going to survive in the wilderness, what supplies would you take with you?” and “Have you ever been alone in the wilderness? If so, what was it like?”

Show video clip of the Canadian wilderness.

Pass around the National Geographic showing Canada.

Have students read chapter 1 in class.
