Magnolia, Ark.—Stephens’ Alicia Jones hit a jumper with 37-seconds remaining in regulation against Walker to carry the Lady Roadrunners into the second round of the Southern Arkansas University high school tournament with a score of 33-31
Alicia Jones and Tasia Malone led Stephens with 10 points each with Landra Coon rounding out the leading scorers with eight.
Shanequa Hardin led Walker with 12 points followed by Kim Marshall and Tericka Critton with six apiece.
The Hornets dropped to 4-10 on the season while Stephens advances to play Thursday at 6:10pm. The Lady Roadrunners will play the winner of the McNeil and Wicks game, which is scheduled for Monday at 6:10pm.
McNeil is the defending tournament champion from last years’ tournament.
