Magnolia, Ark.—Arkadelphia High leading 27-4 at the half went on to defeat Smackover in the Southern Arkansas University High School girl’s basketball tournament 45-15. The Lady Bucks improved their record to 1-1 on the young season.
The scoring was spread throughout the team for Arkadelphia with Karesha Taylor and Devondrea Summerville adding a team high eight points. Jill Wieser and Nicole Jones had six apiece and Telisha Hill five.
Smackover’s scoring was by Cherrell Goodwin, with a team high seven points, followed by Tiffany Bledsoe, four, and Courtney Johnson and Jennifer Richardson adding two each.
The Lady Bucks dropped to 0-5 on the season while Arkadelphia advances to play Thursday at 3:30pm. The Lady Badgers will play the winner of Taylor and Nevada, a game to be played Wednesday, at 4:50pm.
