Magnolia, Ark.— Union defeated Lewisville in starting the second round of the Southern Arkansas University high school girl’s basketball tournament here Wednesday night.
Sharonda Davis led the Lady Cyclones, who improved their record to 11-2 on the season, with 19 points hitting nine from the field and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe. April Hughes followed her lead adding 11 points with Mary Beth Gilmore contributing eight.
Clarissa Willis had a team-high 10 points for the Lewisville Lady Red Devils followed by Erica Dafney with eight.
Lewisville drops to 5-3 on the season as Union advances to play Friday at 4:30pm in the W.T. Watson Athletic Center against the winner of McNeil
and Stephens.
