Magnolia, Ark.— The McNeil Lady Eagles improved their record to 9-5 with a 74-51 win over the Stephens Lady Roadrunners in the Southern Arkansas University girl’s basketball tournament Saturday night. McNeil led 34-22 at half.
Marquita Murphy led the Lady Eagles with 26 points hitting two from 3-point range and 12-of-16 from the charity stripe. Erica Ewell followed her lead adding 23 points with LaToiea Clayton contributing 15 to round out the scoring leaders.
Alicia Jones had a team-high ten points for the Stephens Lady Roadrunners followed by Keri Melson, Landra Coon and Tasia Malone each adding nine.
Stephens drops to 6-8 on the season as McNeil advances to play Friday at 4:30pm in the W.T. Watson Athletic Center against Union.
