Magnolia, Ark.— Arkadelphia defeated Taylor to advance to the semi-final round of the Southern Arkansas University high school girl’s basketball tournament here Thursday night.
Jill Wieser led the Lady Badgers, who improved their record to 2-1 on the season, with 16 points hitting two from 3-point range and 2-of-3 from the charity stripe. Heather Martin followed her lead adding 14 points with Deanna Ho, Karesha Taylor and Alicia Thomas contributing four apiece.
Lexi Burchfield had a team-high eight points for the Taylor Lady Tigers followed by Jennifer Lawler and Ashley Singleton with four.
Taylor drops to 8-7 on the season as Arkadelphia advances to play Friday at 7:10pm in the W.T. Watson Athletic Center against the winner of Emerson and Parkers Chapel.
The Emerson and Parkers Chapel game is scheduled for 8:50pm, tonight.
