Riderettes Hopes Of Tournament Birth Dim

Memphis, Tenn.—The Southern Arkansas University Riderette volleyball team, falling in four to Christian Brothers University, greatly compromised their chances of gaining a tournament birth.  The Lady Bucs, who were tied for fourth with the Riderettes, defeated SAU 30-26, 30-20, 19-30, and 30-22.  Southern Arkansas beat CBU earlier this season in an easy three game match at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.

The only hope that the Riderettes have of gaining that birth is by Christian Brothers losing on Wednesday to UCA and SAU defeating the Lady Bears on Friday. Central Arkansas is currently 2-8 in league play.

Audrey Mullins led the Riderettes with 13 kills and two service aces as Brooke Barnett contributed 10 kills.  Holland Hall added a team high 16 digs as Meredith Meyer put up 25 assists.

For the Lady Bucs, Ashley Hollis tallied up 19 kills with Jennifer Rockwell adding 12 and Tina Fannie adding 11 to the board.

The Riderettes finish their regular season schedule at Conway on Friday.  The match is scheduled to begin at 1 pm.
