Competes In Golf
Cleveland, Miss. --- The University of North Alabama placed first in a 16-team golf tournament here Saturday. UNA shot a 10-under par 566 for first place with the University of Central Arkansas second with a one-under par 575 at the Derrall Foreman Invitational at the Cleveland Country Club. Henderson State was third with 590, Arkansas Tech fourth with 594, host Delta State fifth with 599, Lewis University was sixth with 604, the University of Mobile was seventh with 606, Ouachita Baptist University was eighth with 607, Arkansas Tech # 2 ninth with 609, Union University of Tennessee shot 619 for 10th, Millsaps College shot 628 for 11th, Delta State # 2 and the University of Montevallo tied for 12th with 633, Lincoln Memorial University and Southern Arkansas tied for 14th with 641 and Arkansas-Monticello was 16th with 663.
UNA’s Stephen McNair and Jason Vaughn and UCA’s Maricio Galeno all shot 141 with Justin Regan of UNA shooting 142 and Blake McAfee of HSU and Jon McAlpin both shooting 143.
Leading SAU was Adam Hamilton with 151, Leonard Biddle finished with 158, Lance Laster 165, Jordan Estes 167 and Chris Wasson 176.
