SAU Safety GSC Player of the Week

Magnolia, Ark.-Southern Arkansas University free safety Brian Davis has been selected as the Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his play against Henderson State University last Saturday at Arkadelphia. Davis is the second straight Mulerider to claim conference defensive honors this year. Last week, ‘Rider linebacker Keenan Washington was honored as the GSC Player of the Week.

Davis, a 6-0, 167-pound junior from Longview, Tex., posted 23 tackles, including 20 solos. He also intercepted a pass, forced two fumbles and broke up a pass. His tackle performance was the most by any player this season in the GSC.
