'Rider Booster Club to Meet
Magnolia, AR-- The Southern Arkansas University 'Rider Booster Club will meet Wednesday, September 13, at 12 noon at Western Sizzlin' Steak House on East Main in Magnolia, Ark. The luncheon will be a dutch treat and all Mulerider and Riderette fans are encouraged to attend.
SAU head football coach John Bland, cross country coach Dan Veach and volleyball coach Allison Keeley will present programs. Bland and his staff will speak on the 'Riders 28-15 win over Southeastern Oklahoma in their season's opener. They will also speak on SAU's chances against nationally-ranked and unbeaten Valdosta State University here September 16 in the Gulf South Conference's first televised game by Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast. VSU opened impressively with a 42-10 rout of Albany State and a 46-0 shutout of nationally-ranked Fort Valley State. Both SAU and VSU are both observing an open week this week.
Veach's 'Riders and Riderettes opened at home with first-place finishes last week and are scheduled to run Saturday in Huntsville, Ala. Keeley's Riderettes have improved over last year and have been considerably more competitive in early matches so far this season.
