Southern Arkansas University
Department of Nursing

Welcome to the Department of Nursing

You have selected the most challenging, rewarding and versatile career available today. We believe that a registered nurse is one who possesses considerable knowledge of the basic physical, biological, behavioral, and medical sciences, plus the ability and skill to apply this knowledge in caring for patients with common nursing problems. This requires decision-making ability and sound judgment. We dedicate our time and effort to offer you those experiences that will assist you in reaching this goal. If you have additional questions or would like to speak to a nursing advisor, please contact us at 870-235-4331.

The Nursing Program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The NLNAC is a source of information about the program and invites third party comments as a component of accreditation. The NLNAC may be reached at 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10014, or by phone at 1-800-669-1656.
