Mass Communication - Print Journalism
The Print Journalism emphasis of the department’s Mass Communication major is
designed to provide students with the nature of communications and preparation
for professional work found in a variety of fields, such as newspapers,
magazines and on-line writing/photography.
To help the student achieve their goals, the department offers practical
experience on the weekly student publication, The Bray,
and the university’s yearbook, Mulerider. In addition, photography darkrooms are
available to student publication photographers and students taking photography
courses.
The non-major will learn skills that can enhance their major area of study.
In addition, a print journalism minor can provide the student with a broader
background of capabilities that can be useful when searching for a potential
employer.
