Choral Ensembles

The Southern Arkansas University Choral Department includes two ensembles, each open to music and non-music majors. The Heritage Singers is a group of 40-60 vocalists which concentrates on the preparation of a wide variety of discriminate choral literature. The choir presents several concerts throughout the year both on campus and in the Magnolia area. Select vocalists from regional high schools are invited to join the Heritage Singers in the performance of a major work in the annual SAU Masterworks Festival.

Members of the Heritage Singers may also audition for the Chamber Singers, an ensemble of 18-24 singers which focuses on chamber literature in a variety of styles ranging from Renaissance madrigals to contemporary vocal jazz.
