Blackboard Technology Requirements
It is recommended that students use hardware that is at least equal to or
better than the following:
- Platform: Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, or ME; Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X
- 64 MB of RAM, 1Gb of free disk space
- Modem: 56k
Recommended browsers:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (or better)
- Netscape 4.78 (or better)
NOTE: JavaScript and cookies must be enabled.
Accessing Blackboard
The url for the Blackboard login page is
http://blackboard.saumag.edu.
Username is first initial, middle initial, last name, and your 4-digit code.
Password is the last 6 digits of your student id.
Once you are in your Blackboard account, the course(s) which you are
registered in will appear under the My Institution tab and also under the
Courses tab. To enter the course, click on the course name.
Accessing Blackboard Instructor Manual
The Instructor Manual, containing information about how to use the Blackboard
Learning System, can be found through the Course Menu in Blackboard.
Follow the steps below to access the Instructor Manual:
- Open a course in which you are teaching.
- Select Control Panel from the Course Menu.
- Under the Assistance options, select Online Manual and the Blackboard
Learning System Instructor Manual will appear.
