
Course Evaluations
Instructors may use the Import Package feature in Blackboard to upload the course evaluation into their course.
I. Import the course evaluation(i.e. Student Survey) into a course:
- Click the attached file and save it to the Desktop (Archivefile located at bottom of page)
- Login to Blackboard and click on the link to your course
- Click on Control Panel
- In Course Options, click Import Package
- Click Browse to locate the archived course saved to the Desktop
- Select Tests, Surveys, and Pools to be included in the import process
- Click Submit
- Click Ok
- The evaluation will be copied to the Survey Manager
- Now you are ready to deploy the course evaluation just like you would deploy a test.
II. Deploy course evaluation:
- Click on Control Panel
- In Content Area, click Assignments
- In the Select drop down menu (right side of bar), click on Survey
- Click Go (do not click Ok yet)
- Select Student Survey Form from list
- Click Submit
- "Survey Added Successfully"; Select Ok
- Select Modify Survey Options
- Recommended settings (optional):



- Click Submit
- Click Ok then click Ok again (back to Control Panel)
- Now add an Announcement to encourage student participation.
Suggestion: offer a few extra credit points for student participation. Sample announcement:
"Please help me better understand how to improve this course by completing a survey/course evaluation. The results
of the survey are completely anonymous. When you have completed the survey, a check mark will appear by your name in the grade
book. Thank you for your help."
III. Checking results of the course evaluation (i.e., Student Survey):
- Login to Blackboard and click on the link to your course
- Click on Control Panel
- In Assessment, click Gradebook
- Click Student Survey Form
- Select Assessment Attempt Details
- Remember to print results and send copies to your chair and the HR Department (save a copy for your files)
