Mindtools: Technology for Teaching and Learning
Mindtools: Technology for Teaching and Learning

Mindtools: Technology for Teaching and Learning is designed to introduce educators to a range of computer applications that develop critical, creative, and complex (problem solving) thinking. Software applications include productivity software such as spreadsheets, databases, multimedia, and concept mapping tools as well as content and grade level specific applications. Classroom Web site development and Web-based teaching and learning can be included. Both teacher and student uses of software are covered. The course demonstrates both teacher directed whole class uses and small group applications.

The training can be custom-tailored to fit the specific needs of different content areas and grade levels. In addition, the training can be structured to offer breakout sessions to meet building and grade level needs. The training can either focus on low-cost and free software applications or on specific commercial applications selected in collaboration with the LTP staff and representatives from the group receiving the training.
